Samantha Blair, PhD, NCSP

Dr. Blair is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist in Maine who also holds the National Certification in School Psychology (NCSP). She specializes in conducting comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for Beacon Light Psychological Services.
She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed her doctoral internship with the Department of Psychological Services in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District just outside of Houston, Texas. Her postdoctoral training was with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, Davis MIND Institute. She has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in a variety of settings, including schools, university clinics, and community mental health centers. She has experience in assessment, intervention, consultation, and systems-level services that support academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success.
Her primary role is as a clinical faculty member at the University of Southern Maine, where she trains future school psychologists. In this role, she leads clinical training, provides supervision to graduate students, and collaborates with school districts and organizations throughout the state to promote high-quality training experiences. Her recent scholarly work focuses on supervision, clinical training, and strengthening school psychology practice and has been published in School Psychology International and School Psychology Training and Pedagogy.
Dr. Blair’s clinical interests include academic challenges, behavioral concerns, ADHD, and autism. She prioritizes working collaboratively with parents and teachers and making recommendations that are individualized, practical, and feasible across settings.
Outside of work, Dr. Blair enjoys going to the beach, learning ballet, and spending time with family and friends.
