Dr. Ametti is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides diagnostic assessments and individual and family therapy to clients of all ages—from toddlers to adults. She earned her PhD from the University of Vermont and completed her clinical internship at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has worked in a wide range of settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, schools, and pediatrician’s offices.
Dr. Ametti has extensive experience assessing and treating a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, challenging behaviors, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress, eating disorders, psychosis, tics and Tourette’s syndrome, and body-focused repetitive behaviors such as hair-pulling and skin-picking. She has also completed specialized training in the assessment of autism spectrum disorder.
Her clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She tailors treatment to the unique needs and goals of each individual and family, ensuring they feel understood, compassionately supported, and equipped with practical tools to change unhelpful patterns. She also values close collaboration with schools and other providers to support thorough and coordinated care.
A native Mainer, Dr. Ametti is delighted to be back home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new restaurants and thrift stores, and relaxing at home—experimenting in the kitchen, attempting DIY projects, and doting on her elderly cat, Charlie.
